Dears,

Good day!

We would like to allow external access to one of our processes. As of today, all of our processes are accessed by internal users over windows authentication.

We have K2 internet license and would like to configure external access for our run time site. In our current setup, we have smart forms server in DMZ and blackpearl server and SQL internally.

How we can configure our smart forms run time site to be accessible by external and internal users at the same time. What are the best ways to implement?

Appreciate any guidance to configure controlled external users access to K2 smartforms.

Thanks

Hi,

You can try setting up a secondary Runtime site: http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2five/icg/5.0/default.htm#configure/sf/config2nd_runtime_site.htm
This will allow Internet users to open your forms using anonymous access.

Thanks ajo for your reply, much appreciated!

I understand that this will allow us to expose forms for Anonymous access. But if we would like to use Form Authentication for external users and windows for internal users, do we need to configure the secondary site?

Can we configure the single site to be used for both windows and forms authentication (over internet)?

Cheers!

Hi,

Yes, you may configure a single runtime site to use either Windows or Forms authentication. To do this, you'd need to set both K2 Windows STS and K2 Froms STS as the linked issuers to your runtime site. Please take a look at this documentation. When a user logs in, he'll be able to choose the authentication method - either through Windows or Forms.
