Ok,

As a test, I've got a smartobject (smartbox) with a couple of text fields and one guid field with Text as KEY.

I then have 1 view and 1 Form

I ticked Anonymous access on both the form and view.

Opened up the form, entered some data and clicked on SAVE, but yet this error:

"Cannot access Smartobject Item 'random guid here' anonymously.

Any ideas? The documentation on setting this up is vague....

That's strange. What is the account your SmartBox service instance is running on? By default, it should be running as the Service Account, so it really shouldn't give you this error.

Have you tried a SQL service SmartObject using static auth mode?

Got to the bottom of this, needed anon access on IIS as well

Hi SharpSharp1,

Any chance you could expand on what anon access was needed in IIS?

I have exactly the same issue and as you say the official instructions are pretty non-existant on this.  I have Anon access set up for the site where the DMZ smart forms are hosted but seem to get exactly the same error?  As BoringNerd says the SQL account that the smart objects are based on are using a service account so there seems to be an issue inbetween...

Cheers for any pointers....

Paul.
