We've had the following scenario come up numerous times and would really like some ideas on how we could address the requirement. We are triggering a workflow based on certain conditions that occur on a SharePoint list item. In the SharePoint list item there is a multi-person people field (populated uniquely for that specific list item) with 1 or more people who should perform the first task in the workflow. That part all works just fine - in some cases we are waiting for all of the people to complete the task before advancing and in other cases we expire the user task after a certain period of time.
The issue we have is that the reviewers assigned the task want to select and prompt additional reviewers, basically adding some additional reviewers to the in-progress task. (Another variation is that the admins for the process also may want to add additional reviewers while the user task is in progress.) I know that it is not possible to simply add a new recipient to the in-progress task using the normal functionality. But I was wondering if anyone else has come up with a another way to address this? One option would be to finish out the user task with the original reviewer and then repeat the user task with the queue of other people selected for review. But this means that the new reviewers wouldn't be notified to begin their review until after all of the first reviewers have completed. Any other ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
