Show Control based On Condition in New Mode and Show By Default in Edit Mode

Jump to solution

Hi All,

I am new to Nintex Forms and even though I have managed to create rules for certain controls. The latest one has me pulling my hair out.

I have a field called Asset Number (sits in a Panel and is a text field). In New Mode I want the panel to only appear if option "Existing" is selected from above question (New or Existing Equipment and it is a choice field).

However if they select "New" From (New or Existing Equipment question). I dont want the Asset Number Field to appear in New Mode but by default appear in Edit Mode.

I know that (NewOrExistingEquipment!="Existing") with hidden checked . Works in New Mode but it contradicts it not showing by default in Edit Mode.

You can append && IsNewMode on the rule. This will show the Asset Number control on the New form, only when existing is selected, or on edit mode if New or Existing was selected.  Here is a run through on my side.

From the Nintex side, there are several how-to videos that the team has produced on a variety of different functions.  You can find those at our YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/user/Nintex/videos

We also have some great free training resources at Nintex Learning Central:

The community here will typically have a wide variety of specific use cases as well.  If you're looking for a quick reference, I found the link below which has a pretty good break down of several different scenarios and the applicable rules configurations.
