Struggling to figure this out. I feel like I'm close....
I have a custom list in Sharepoint 2013 that lists certain incoming packages that our receiving team needs to watch for when they arrive. I would like to send an email each day for any orders with an ETA date of today or earlier and the status is "Open." In the email, I want it to provide the recipients with the repair #, order type, tracking #, and instructions.
When I first began testing the workflow, my "send notification" sent me the correct data, so i know my filters and everything worked correctly. Now I need to get it formatted so it is legible. I modeled my email setup based on this article: http://www.sharepointpub.com/formatting-a-table-from-collection-variables-nintex-workflow/
I'll attach an export of the workflow as well. I'd really appreciate any help you may have to offer. Thank you!!
After numerous tries, this is my end result:
My first build string:
Here's a picture of my 2nd build string:
- your first build string action is inside loop, so you shouldn't provide <table> tag there since it will inherit table into another table with every iteration. build just table rows within the loop.
- I think colspan specifier is not needed there, especially if you set it in every row
btw, you have there send mail action so I assume you send HTML string build to yourself. so grab the received text and put it to some HTML validator and it should show where the structure is broken.
Hi Marian, thank you for your response. I'm still having some trouble. I stripped out all of the extra HTML to troubleshoot on just the table. The only thing I get now is a blank email. ;( Any ideas? Thanks again!!
I updated my first build to the following:
My second build:
it looks OK at first sight.
- does your query return any data at all?
- aren't there any characters within your data that could break HTML?
- try to change mail format to plain text to check what exactly do you get. if possible post the output.
so that means you haven't collected any data within loop.
you have to investigate the reason, either query did not returned any data, or you do not pick data from collections within loop into variables correctly, or ...
try to debug workflow behaviour and content of workflow variables at key points with log history action or email notifications (form variable with longer content)
What was the end result for this? I either get a table with blank info (headers only) or... the info that is supposed to fill the table, without the table.
