I'm starting to think this as a bug.
I have added legacy People Picker on my form. I configured the default value to be the Current User. When i click on Save, and open it again, the default value is gone.
I'm on version 1.7.0.0 Nintex Forms 2010, SP2010. Could someone please test and let me know. Thanks.

I cannot use the new people picker beccause i have 6 different domains/forests where the users have to be searched and it is slow.

might be worth upgrading to the latest version of forms and then removing the control, before adding it back in. see if that solves the problem. this should have been done after the upgrade from v.1.4/1.4.1 (see release notes for Nintex Forms 2010 - Release Notes

Thanks for providing the info.
I was hoping to find resolution as we have 7 different forests that people search occurs in and even after enhancements, the new people picker is slow and doesnt give directory options to find users.
