Simple (?) Question Regarding Approval Workflow

Hi all,


I have a custom SharePoint list. I have a K2 process attached to the list. I want items to be rejected/approved. I have set the workflow to branch approve/reject etc. and sent an email accordingly for example, but how do I update the status of the item? Do I need to create a field in the SP list of "Approval Status" and the process updates this (if so, how do you update a field)?


NB I can see the approval template, but selecting it seems to do nothing.
