Can a workflow create a list view

Jump to solution

I have created a registration site that has the event and then a list of attendees. I have to manually create the views based upon the EventID. I am just starting to use Nintex and I can see some options about using Nintex workflow to create users and such - but I couldn't see if there was a way that a workflow could create a view on a custom list. All I need the view to do is filter on the EventID.

Yes you can create list view using SharePoint REST API by executing a POST request [How to execute a SP2013 REST API request with Nintex Workflow]

The content of your request will be:  "{ '__metadata': { 'type': 'SP.View' }, 'Title': 'View Name', 'PersonalView':   true, 'ViewQuery':'" + query + "'  }" where query should be something like that : '<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name=\"'Title'\" /><Value Type=\"Text\">' + TitleVar +'</Value></Eq</Where>'

Don't forget to get the FormDigestValue before executing your POST request.

Hope this help.
