Hi Joey,

This is a request that will take me a day to try and explain.

My advice would be to:
1. Attend a K2.net 2003 Developer Course, contact your local K2.net Office for more detail on the course and schedule.
2. Download the Training Modules from http://portal.k2workflow.com/downloads/product.aspx, Module 08 - InfoPath and SharePoint Integration is what you are looking for. The training modules are located under Downloads/Training

Hi Joey,

Browse to http://portal.k2workflow.com the Downloads/Training section contains the developer training modules and can be downloaded. Module 8 discusses SharePoint and InfoPath integration with comprehensive labs that will step you threw the basics.

Module 08 : InfoPath and SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Integration
Using a Microsoft InfoPath 2003 form to capture information and start a workflow process will be discussed in this module. The student will learn how to use the various process, activity and event templates in K2.net® 2003 Studio in order to provide an InfoPath integrated workflow solution. The module will teach the student how a workflow process can be integrated with Microsoft® Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 by utilizing the various process and event templates provided with K2.net® 2003 Studio.

In the training materials, the URL for SharePoint virtual server is: http://sps.k2mega.local.

So if the k2 server is installed in a machine called k2dev, what will the virtual server URL be like? "http://sps.k2dev.local"?

Is this SPS site installed automatcally or is an optional component? As I am only running the client part in my XP Professional desktop, I have not installed the server part yet. We will be running k2 server from a development server with Windows Server 2003.

Also I know there are altogether 3 web servcies for k2:
one for exteranl system to call k2;
one for infopath;
and one for sharepoint?

Are these optional server components?

Hi,

Is this SPS site installed automatically

No, SPS is a Microsoft product that needs to be installed by the Administrator.

Also I know there are altogether 3 web services for k2

K2.net consists of various web services, these are configured during the installation of the components based on the selection made by the user, typically all the web services is installed on the same IIS Site as Workspace.
