Hi

I think that k2 black pearl installation manual dedicated for a x64 operating is needed due to the big number of problems we face during installation.

Thanks for your reply; i already feel positive energy emitting from your reply :-)

first of all i am doing an installation of k2 blackpearl server and workspace on a windows server 2008 enterprise SP1.

Lets start by the report viewer; i went to the site listed in the installation documentation and installed it . the installation was successful and the message that appeared was :"Microsoft report viewer redistributable 2008 has been successfully installed".but a dependency issue appears telling me that The dependant -Microsoft report viewer redistributable 2005 - is not installed.!

another issue is related to the prerequsits of k2 server installation (DTC); how should it be installed

another one about IIS and it's appropriate installation for k2 workspace to work

I trust that this is not a Server 2008 R2 installation? The DTC should be installed exactly as mentioned in the documentation:

http://help.k2.com/en/k2blackpearluserguide.aspx?page=MSDTC.html

http://help.k2.com/en/k2blackpointhelp.aspx?page=Install_DTCComponents.html ----Blackpoint link but it’s the same for Blackpearl.

I think the best route would be for you to log a Support ticket with K2 to get your issues resolved asap.

yes it is not an R2 installation

I will see these links and come back to you.

i have also one issue and it is regarding the Run as for the K2 blackpearl Workspace shortcut; how do you do that in windows server 2008 enterprise

MANY THANKS FOR BOTH

No Problem. Have you tried installing the Microsoft report viewer redistributable 2005 SP1 as well on the machine? Just to see if the dependencies actually only check for that installation and not the minimum as expected.

It seems that in Server 2008 the Run as Different user must be "activated". Please refer to the following post.

http://www.groovypost.com/howto/microsoft/vista/add-runas-to-explorer-context-menu-in-vista-and-server-2008/

Download the shellrunas tool and copy it to you WindowsSystem32 folder.

Run the command: shellrunas /reg

That’s strange, were you logged on to the machine as a Local
Admin when attempting to install the shellrunas? I did not have any issues with
the tool on a 64bit system. You can also try the following tool:
