Has anyone tried to update every document in a site collection?

Jump to solution

Hi,

Has anyone tried to use Nintex to update every document in a site collection?  I have a requirement to update all documents in a site collection where a particular person is entered in a people column. They've left the company and I want to replace them with another user.  I know I can do a simple update multiple items on a single library, but I would need to got through potentially hundreds of libraries.

Or is using something like a simple powershell script a better route to go?

Thanks all!

Hey Troy Lyon‌,

although I love building solutions with Nintex, I think this should better be done with the help of PowerShell. I searched for something that could maybe help you and found the following article: Changing Modified, and Created details in SharePoint | Share and PowerShell

The script needs to be changed to iterate through multiple libraries, sites and also regarding the column you want to change, but maybe it's a good starting point.

Best regards,

Jan

Hey Jan,

Thanks for the response.  That's what I figured, but just wanted to see if anyone else had tried doing something like this.

Cheers!

Troy
