Can anyone tell me, does Blackpearl have a web service that can be called from an external application to set some data fields and instantiate a process?
If so, what is it? I can't seem to find it in the documentation. Thanks!

No, blackpearl doesn't ship with such a web service although this feature has been requested before.
However, a developer should be able to relatively quickly build a web service to start a specific K2 process using the sample code provided in the blackpearl help (it would take a bit more effort to make it generic so it could work for all processes). This sample is at:
