Are you referring to the SmartActions functionality? (https://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2five/icg/5.3/default.htm#Install/Manual/K2/Inst-Smartactions.htm)
This functionality allows the user to respond to an email sent by K2 and action assigned tasks.
