Symptoms
A checked box in a checkbox list adds the XML from the selection, not the value. Instead of putting the value from the Value column into the control, it now puts this "[VALUE]" where it should have just put the value.
Diagnoses
This is currently expected behavior when using the checkbox list.
Resolution
A feature request has been logged to be able to return only the value instead of the control XML.
As a workaround, a radio button list is being used instead, as the checkbox list only requires one selection. The radio button list does not present this issue.
