Symptoms
Sometimes it may be necessary to read information from such Active Directory fields as "Initials" or to Display photo from the Active Directory which is stored in the data field "thumbnailPhoto" using K2 service brokers.
Diagnoses
Out of the box in K2 these Active Directory attributes are exposed only through Account Management broker, which does not have Read method. Consequently you can not read these properties with standard K2 Active Directory service brokers.
There is a Dynamic Active Directory Service broker available on K2 community site, which should be able to read aforementioned properties. As with any community based projects it is not supported by K2 support. You can find more details about Dynamic Active Directory Service broker here:

There is also an existing feature request to enhance the ADService2 broker so that it by default return user first name, user last name and other properties.
Resolution
As a workaround you may consider use of Dynamic Active Directory Service broker available on K2 community (components built by K2 community not supported by K2 support, but you may ask your questions on community site).
