label in search field popup

I asked the same question here.

It isn’t possible to configure the label in the search field popup except to change the label of your object or field in Salesforce.

The only way around this that I can see is to use a custom field render that would show your own ‘lookup/search’ button.  You could configure your button to open your own popup to handle the search.
