On a visualforce page, I could paste the following to change the page title and the short cut icon:

When I insert this into a template field, it changes the title but the icon doesn’t change. Is there a way around this?

Because you do still have to write 2 lines of VF in order to override salesforce navigation - we usually still put page titles etc in the VF page code. 

That makes sense. The title is changing, though. I just need the icon to change. Is there any way to do a work around?

None that I am aware of.  Sorry.
