In the Spark form component, when you add the save / cancel buttons to a read with inline edit mode, you can open up the fields for edit mode using the pencil icon and then update them, which activates the save/cancel buttons.  When you hit either of these, the form remains in edit mode rather than returning to inline edit, which is the behavior of field editors in V1.
