This would be super handy.
Not my idea, but I figured it should be its own ‘idea’ thread: https://community.skuid.com/t/call-snippet-from-snippet
Consider the idea registered. Thanks for providing the advice!
I would really appreciate this feature.
Yes please! We need this!
Matt~
Thank you for your patience! Skuid has implemented this new feature regarding the ability to pass arguments to snippets from the action framework in the new Millau 11.0 release which is now available on the Skuid Releases page.
As a reminder, Salesforce does NOT allow reverting back to prior versions of managed packages. Skuid always recommends installing new versions in a non-business critical sandbox environment to test all mission critical functionality before installing into a production environment. We also recommend that you update out of date themes when you upgrade. Please let us know if you continue to encounter any problems with this issue after upgrading.
Thanks again for bringing us this idea and helping make Skuid a better product!
Karen
I am not finding the documentation for this and do not see a place to pass custom arguments to a snippet (on version 11.1.6). How can we now pass arguments/parameters to snippets from the action framework? Or can you point me to the right place if I missed it in the documentation? Thanks!
Yes, can you add to the documentation? I can’t find it anywhere.
Karen! Liar liar pants on fire. I don’t see this option that you speak of.
Action sequences work with inputs but snippets from action framework that I can see.
i can’t find it either
You can call a snippet via a URL in the meantime. Here’s the syntax:
javascript:skuid.snippet.getSnippet(‘SnippetName’)(‘Parameter1’,‘Parameter2’);
We’re using this technique extensively and it works very well. Conceivably you could set this up as a reusable action and manage the parameters via the page composer. That may be an extra step however.
Hi everyone! It has been a long time coming, but I’ve written up an explanation for how this can be accomplished. You can read that (and more) here:
