I have custom: SF button/Link as action type on button properties. Is there a way I can get the button open up on a new tab.( Similar to redirect url options) ?

The custom buttons/links available automatically in Skuid are always redirect urls - its just that the redirect is defined in your salesforce setup, rather than in your Skuid page. So you have two options.
1. Change the definition in setup by changing the Behavior option.
2. Recreate the URL with a Skuid button of type Url Redirect and use our new tab option.
