Is there a way to report on activities and the timeframe setup in the map. The goal would be to roll up the time by role to see how much time is being used for each role.

You could use an "if condition" in the workflow and have a branch for each role and change a different variable depending on role and then "merge " again using the flow arrows. (Merge action can only be used after a split action) and then make a custom report.
In the Reports tab there is a Process Activities by Role and Responsibility report, you can select the role and it will show you the processes for the role but, not the time associated with the activities.
