Hello,

I am trying to create a validation rule for two people picker fields that would invalidate the control if they match. This is pretty straightforward to accomplish on a classic form but not so much on a New Responsive form.

When I attempt to apply this concept with a New responsive form, I am not able to provide a validation error message for any of my people picker fields.

Any guidance or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Classic Form condition:

New Responsive Form submit rules:

A different option is to create a Form Rule so that the Secondary Owner field value is set to empty (cleared out) if the Primary Owner value is the same as the Secondary Owner value. Then in this scenario the user can never enter the same Primary Owner as the Secondary Owner.

That is another way to go about it however it makes it so the description for that field doesn’t go away and could cause confusion with our users.

Is this functionality not present with a New Responsive form?

@bamaeric I was able to figure it out by putting my fields inside of a group for Submit Rules section.

Thanks for your help with this.

Hi @JosePC

You’ve manage to resolve the issue. Interesting solution - using a Group control. I wanted to suggest to use a Text field control (eg Title)

Good catch. Instead of the Description in the second part of the Then statement, try it to the Tooltip option and see if that makes sense.

I don’t believe there are any options in a Submit rule at the moment for what you are trying to accomplish.

This is a good suggestion to add to the Nintex Ideas site (https://ideas.nintex.com). I would vote for it!
