I have a list that contains an image column, the column is set to show as thumbnail. When I create a new form, the image column does not show up in the forms designer? I would like to be able to upload an image to that column. The image upload to the column works fine from the SharePoint “new item” option from the list itself.

No, we did not find a solution for Nintex, we ended up switching to Power Automate/Apps for this particular list and solved it that way.
