How to set Primary Item ID, List ID in workflow History list?

In the Workflow History list I see the following fields:

Primary Item ID

List ID

By default they appear not to be populated. Has anyone figured out how to populate these fields? Or, has anyone found out why these fields are not populated in the first place? (fyi, the behavior is the same for both Nintex and SPD workflows)

Thanks in advance.

Hi Remco,

PrimaryItemID and ListID are populated by the workflow. If you create a list workflow and run it over an item with history logging enabled you would see both these values populated.

LIstID - GUID for the List on which the workflow was run

PrimaryItemID - ID of the list item on which the workflow was run.

Hi Shrinivas,

That is what I would expect as well. However, in my tenant this is not happening. The fields mentioned remain empty. Anyone experiencing the same behavior?

Hi,

I just received feedback from Microsoft on this topic:

"

- OOTB Workflows, for example Approval WF, has the ListID and Primary Item ID filled on WF history list in SharePoint Online (SPO).

- Custom WFs in SPO do not have these fields filled out.

"

Too bad as this makes life rather complicated when one wants to remove or archive workflow related data (e.g. Item+Tasks+History).
