Default value doesn't work for Nintex Forms: 'New Responsive Designer'

I am creating a form (Sharepoint list > Nintex Forms > New Responsive designer), and then I add a default value to some field. Thereafter: saving and publishing the form.

When I open a new form of this type, then the default value will not appear in the field. Why is that?

I thought that a default value should appear there if nothing else is provided.

Hi @oysteinbruce,

Which control type are you setting the default value for?

Hi @SimonMuntz and thanks for answering.

I have tested for both ‘Text - Short’ and ‘People picker’.

Hi @oysteinbruce,

Very strange.
Have you tried another browser?
Are you seeing any errors in the browser developer tools when opening the form?

I have tried several browsers and no error occurs. I have found kind of a workaround using form rules: “true” equals “true”, then add value to that field, but it would be better to have a default value there… @SimonMuntz.
