Hi,

Our K2 environment appears to be defaulted to use standard HTTP Protocol.

We are looking into exposing K2 Data via Power BI and further down the line utilise the K2 Workspace Mobile App. In both instances I understand HTTPS protocol must be used.

How does one configure K2 to use HTTPS rather than HTTP?

Side note:

I'm having an issue trying to use the K2 Process Analytics PowerBI connector (https://help.k2.com/powerbipreviewcontentpack). Nothing happens when I click sign in, I believe this could be as my SmartObject OData URL is HTTP and not HTTPS.

I'm hoping correctly configuring K2 to use the HTTPS protocol will resolve this.

Thanks

Good day @ConradMc,

To go from HTTP to HTTPS you need to :

  1. Set the HTTPS bindings for the K2 Workspace Site and K2 SmartForms web site (if installed in a separate Web Site).
  2. Delete the HTTP Binding from the K2 Workspace Web site and/or SmartForms Web site.
  3. Reconfigure K2 running the K2 Setup manager and selecting Configure.
  4. Select Bindings when you get to the Workspace web site and make sure you only have the HTTPS binding and select it.
  5. Finish the installation:
  6. Run the K2 setup manager and configure it.
  7. When you get to the Designer and Runtime web sites configurations, click on Bindings and make sure you have the HTTPS selected and that it is the only one.
  8. Finish the installation.

That should be all you need to change K2 to use HTTPS.

Hey ConradMc,

To add on to Dumisani's comment, if it happens that are not able to identify "HTTPS" in your bindings when you click the bindings button in setup manager, you will need to create it. See step 1 and only step 1 of this document (https://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2five/icg/5.0/default.htm#Configure/SF/MultiAuthSQLUM.htm) to create a SSL site. After performing this action, the option for HTTPS should be available in the setup manager.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Katleho
