Hi.

We have following environments of K2 for SharePoint:

  1. Trial
    1. One K2 server, DB and SharePoint on different server
    2. We have multiple site collection for different department, and each site collection has multiple subsites for each k2 application
    3. Only on premises SharePoint site version 2013
  2. Test
    1. Two K2 server with NLB, DB and SharePoint on different server
    2. We have multiple site collection for different department, and each site collection has multiple subsites for each k2 application
    3. Online and on premises SharePoint site version 2013
  3. Production
    1. Two K2 server with NLB, DB and SharePoint on different server
    2. We have multiple site collection for different department, and each site collection has multiple subsites for each k2 application
    3. Online and on premises SharePoint site version 2013

While we are upgrading from 4.6.11 to 4.7 with the help of K2 support team, K2 suggested to have single SharePoint for three different K2 environments instead of using three different SharePoint sites, so please share us a case study on about how to setup this and how to handle the existing active instances? Considering the K2 Five upgrade in end of this year.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Good day K2-Masters,

For pointing multiple K2 environments to a single sharepoint server, please see this document ( https://help.k2.com/kb001632 ) which clearly indicates the steps.

Take note of step 4 regarding the following:

1.Only perform this step if/when you have upgraded to 4.7 or later version (5.0,5.1, or 5.2).

2.Though all the steps can be performed on on-prem sharepoint successfully, you might struggle to get GUID1 in step 4.2 for sharepoint online as the cmdlet (Get-SPTrustedSecurityTokenIssuer) seems to be not executable on sharepoint online management shell for sharepoint online. In this case, to retrieve GUID1 might require you to explore your microsoft 365 and navigate to the following location:

Click the menu icon in top left corner -> Admin -> Hover over "Admin Centers" then select SharePoint -> Classic sharepoint admin centers -> Apps -> App Permissions. In this page, see if you can identify something like K2|GUID1@GUID2?.

The above information should provide you with the right direction. I hope it helps.

Should you find this response helpful in any way please could you mark it as such by "Mark as solution" or "Kudo" as it will be of help to other members of the community who encounter similar issues.

Regards,

Katleho
