Is Visual Studio (VS) the supported solution for debugging K2 Five workflows created in the K2 Five Designer?

I've read how VS2013 and VS2015 can be used in K2 Five on Legacy workflows, and how new K2 Five workflows must be created in the new HTML5 Designer.  But, this K2 Five article references the use of VS for debugging workflows.  Is this valid even when the workflow is created as a new K2 Five workflow using the K2 Five Designer?
