Hi,

I'm new to K2 environment, and our company has recently installed K2 Five version 5.2.  I has few questions regarding patching.

1)   How regular will the patches be release, and where can I find them?

2)   So far what were the patches that had been released, do I need to run any since we just implemented?

3)   In our environment, we did customisation on some K2 functions (by vendor).   Are there any functional patchers, and will there be any impact if we run the functional patches, if any?

5)  Usually how the patches are like, I mean if there is security changes and functional changes at the same time, will these changes combine into one patch file or it will be split to security patch file and functional pathc file?

Appreciate for any return.

Thank you very much!

Demi

Hi Yuetmeng,

1. Kindly note that there is no K2 security bulletin or urgent mandatory updates which we qualify as security related and push to all clients. But in general you can expect K2 to communicate information about major bugs and breaking changes.

With regards to Security, we do not specifically announce all security issues we discover and recommend that being on the latest version is always the best thing to do, as it includes all important security updates.

As per the schedule as to when is the K2 updates are released, the details will be in the below link, under Frequently asked questions

https://help.k2.com/kb002772

2. Below is link to the updates for version 5.2, Kindly check it out

The most recent one for 5.2 version is May 2019 CU FP 42. It will be in the below link

Hi Kate, HulisaniN,
Thanks for the information.
Just a quick question.

Realised there are about 42 Fix Pack, how I know which Fix Pack we had already installed? Our version showed 5.0003.1100.0, yet the Build Number that showed is 5.0003.1000.x. I'm not able to find the Build Number that I have, is there a different between x.xxxx.1100 and x.xxxx.1000?

Thank you
Demi

Hi Yuetmeng,

You check on what fixpack has already been installed in your K2 Environment by running the below

query against your K2 DB.

SELECT UpdateName, VersionOfK2Patched, DateImplemented
FROM [HostServer].[UpdateHistory]

The above will give you the information on what current updates you already have and when was it installed

Hope this helps
