Form Progress Steps Control - Event Exclusion

By default the control displays all potential events of the associated workflow.

I have a requirement to exclude events from showing based a predetermined number.

For testing I'm using hard-coded data label.

I have been unsuccessful in excluding events based on the data label.

Example:

Has anyone been successfull in accomplishing this?

I'd appreciate any insight.

FYI -

The Form Progress Control is a custom K2 market control. These custom controls are not supported by K2 Support.

K2 support suggests reaching out to the control's creator with questions.
