Symptoms

When accessing workspace, the error below occurred , it's strange as it worked before and as far as I know there is no change, please see the attached screenshot and web config file.Please rename web.jpg to web.config.

Initialization failed before PreInit: A local error has occurred. (Install DirK2 blackpearlWorkspaceSiteweb.config line 115)

 

Diagnoses

The Preinit error is due a misconfiguration with the AD Connection string or with Active Directory. Reviwing the web.config we detected that the Memembership for the second domain didn't had an _ after the rename.
 

Resolution


Changing the name on the of the ASPnet ADmembershipto to contain an underscore resolved the issue. This might have been caused because we are searching for the AspNetActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider and If we add a character it modifies the name completely ej. AspNetActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider2. That's why we need to add the underscore.
