After upgrading to 4.5, the worklist on one of my subsites is stuck at "Loading ..." The top site, however, works fine.

I'm not sure why that's happening but have you tried removing the k2 worklist webpart and then adding it back in? Once you've done that just ensure that the K2 Server settings are correct in the webpart modification settings (although with 4.5 I believe it'll pick them up from the K2 settings pushed out through Central Admin).
+5thanks for the help. i deleted the webpart and then put it back as you suggested but it still didn't work. HOWEVER, i then realized that there are TWO "k2 worklist" webparts available in my site collection. i can see on the web part gallery that one was created when i did the 4.5 upgrade and one was left over in the group "k2 process portal". so i deleted the one from the process portal and used the other one and it worked. thanks again!
