Environment:

SharePoint 2013, Nintex Workflow and Forms

Background:

This is the random scenario we are facing in the one of our many workflows.

Scenario: 

One list workflow, which is working fine in most cases, fails to update the Workflow status field and it remain blank throughout the workflow cycle.  I had a discussion with workflow owner, and they mentioned , initially workflow was  able to set the status field but in the end of workflow, it became blank.

Interestingly, when i am trying to see the completed workflows on any of the above item. i am not able to see the completed workflows

But more interestingly when i click on the view workflow history from the item menu,  i can see the completed workflow.

Nintex workflow history shows workflow run properly and going through the Set Workflow Status action but not able to set the status.

We can't trigger these workflow again, as it already completed the cycle.

hmm why is the action "set workflow status" required??
From my experience, when using FLEXI TASK action and once approved then the WF status is set to Completed.

Hi Bim,

To answer your question, why is the action "set workflow status" required? Because we have to compare the inputs from Tasks form and set different workflow status along the way.

We are not using  Flexi Task in this workflow, all task are of Request data type.
