So I need to create a workflow that based on 3 items on a dropdown called Request Type then triggers 3 different emails. I thought maybe I would do Query List but that doesn't seem to do what I need.

For the current item the workflow is running on?
Why don't you use a switch action to assess the three different values of the dropdown and send an email under each branch as desired?
+4Ok I didn't think of that, I was stuck on the state machine. I will try that. I am running SharePoint 2013 on prem.
