Symptoms

I attempted to run "Smart Object Service Tester.exe" on my local desktop which is outside of the K2 Blackpearl server box. It does not launch on my desktop machine. What other dependent files or DLLs should I copy over to the desktop side in order to run this tool?

 

Diagnoses

The best way to run the K2 Smart Object Tester is to install the K2 Client components in the desire machine. From the installation package run the setup and select custom install and only select the client tools. That should install the SmartObject Tester.

 

Resolution

We were able to use the SmartObject Tester tool by Installing the K2 Client Components on the machine.

Additional rights to the K2 database were needed for the account installing the K2 Client Tools (Db Owner, Datareader and Datawriter) due the error "The SQL Server database configuration test failed as databases of the wrong type exist" were granted.
