Hi!
I would like to get details on how to direct K2 to authenticate user and determine destination using LDAP server. Please provide reading materials on how to use this as security option in using K2.
Our company has another existing user authentication system called PXED. We'd like to know if we can connect K2 directly to this system.
Thanks,
msanmiguel

Hi,
K2.net is designed to change user managers. The Out of the Box is Active Directory, you can also download the SQL User Manager from the K2.net Partner Portal, with all that said you will be able to develop your own user manager with a bit of help from a sample or 2. Please contact your local K2.net representative and ask him/her about the User Manager Sample that is available.

Hi Renier,
Thanks for the recommendation. But we are not looking at using the User Manager as it will require another maintenance work. I've noted from the K2 Training docs under security that:
Security all applications require an authenticated user. The solution supports multiple security models including Microsoft Active Directory or any other LDAP compliant system.
I am interested on how we can make a connection for our non MS Active Directory since it is an LDAP compliant system.
Hope there is a way to do this. It will be much ease for all corporate wide (global) application that we will develop in K2.
Hope to receive feedback soon.
thanks,
msanmiguel

Hi msanmiguel,
That statement is a bit misleading, Yes K2.net can use LDAP compliant systems however if it is not AD you will have to develop/customize to achieve this. Implementations used today on LDAP are AD and ADAM, these implementations has been optimized specific to the way the platform works, and is not a generic LDAP consumer.
