There’s been some interest in my business at the possibility of using Blackpearl workflows and smart objects for data integration. Example uses would be taking a purchase order from the ERP on submit, and sending it to a vendor’s webservice based ordering portal, or taking an updated customer contact’s details in the ERP, and updating the record in Salesforce.


 


I these situations the workflows would have little to no client events (the client used would be the ERP front-end), and the process would be kicked off by an API call to the workflow server on submit in the origin system.


 


I’ve anecdotally heard of Blackpearl being used in this way. I definitely know that it could work. I was wondering if anyone here had done so, and what their thoughts on the experience were.
