I am looking at setting up workflow within my teams SharePoint site.  There are roughly 80 users, will all users need the nintex software on their computers to use workflows, they wont be designing the workflows, just participating in them.

No happy.png Nintex is installed server-side. Depending on the chosen licensing model you either buy a subscription which entitles you to use a specific no. of workflows and forms (this is payed annualy) or server license, where you must buy a license per each server being in the WFE role.

Nintex Workflows are accessed via web browser thus users then need only web browser to use the workflow.

Tomasz

Yes. Not having to install software on clients is one of the big advantages of Nintex. There are requirements about the web-browser used though!

‌ your users will be fine to partake in the workflows you create.

While everything above is true you might want to think deeper about Nintex permissions. How are your users accessing SharePoint sites? If you activate Nintex on a site all editors will be able to design workflows and if nothing was changed before, they will be allowed to add all actions provided by Nintex to their workflows.

So if you are at the very beginning please think of WHO should be able to design Nintex Workflows and WHICH actions you want to give them. Nintex provides perfect options do to both; define Workflow Designers and define which actions who may use.

Kind regards,

Enrico

Enrico happy.png - Helen works at Babcock and we have governance that locks the workflow actions so this will not be a concern for her.

Didn't know that. So you should be good to go happy.png

Helen have our answers helped you? If so, can you choose one and mark it as "Correct" please?

Tomasz
