I have had a quick search and I haven't found a way of achieving this. I'm not aware of it being achievable OOTB off the top of my head. 

I would suggest you perhaps log a feature request with support. 

If someone else has any ideas feel free to suggest.

What version of SharePoint are you using? That may guide you to better advice.

From the documentation, there does not seem to be a way to even update Word documents in SharePoint. There doesn't appear to be an "Update Document" capability - and if you wanted to update it you might have to create a new document all together. Also, the labs team has confirmed that there are no Word Document wizards for SharePoint 2013; this has been linked to a TFS for a feature request. There are Word Document wizards for SharePoint 2010, though.
