Symptoms
When you try to sort and filter the composite SMO, you get an error - though only sorting or only filtering works fine.
Reproducing steps:
1. I created the following 2 simple tables in the SQL DB - Attachment - 01.TableScripts
2. Then I created a simple Composite SMO with joining by PrimaryTableId field - Attachments 02.CompositeSMO
3. Then I published it and configured filter: - Attachment 03
4. Then I configured Sorting - Attachment 04
5. Upon clicking execute I have the error - Attachment 05

This is a known issue
Resolution
Our labs team have linked this to a existing tfs item and this is a known bug.
