Unable to a connect to SQL Server Instance when connecting through Azure SQL Service
 

Diagnoses


When you have ran into a problem when migrating your K2 server + Database into Azure.
You have a SQL Server Instance set up which points to Azure SQL Service, and which can login successfully.
However, when executing smartobjects which aren't stored within the K2 database, we receive an error:

Reference to database and/or server name in '*******' is not supported in this version of SQL Server.

What is the best way to resolve this?
 

Resolution

Please do set up the service instance to use SQL native execution. The impact of this is to help with the performance of SQL based smart objects. You can have a look at the video below in regards to this.
