Question
Are task groups able to be used to create multi-step approval processes?
Answer
No. Multiple User Tasks must be used to create multi-tiered approvals where each subsequent approval depends on the outcome of any previous approvals. Task groups allow setting up multiple groups that a single User Task event will be sent to, and each task group can be configured to only be included given conditional statements that are set up by the designer.
For an example of the usage of task groups, see this article: http://community.k2.com/t5/K2-Appit/Utilizing-multiple-task-groups-in-Appit-and-controlling/ta-p/84730
Also, for an example of setting up a multi-tier approval process, see Corporate Policy Management tutorial in the Appit User Guide (specifically step 6): http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2appit/userguide/current/Default.htm#Tutorials/Corporate_Policy_Management/Building_the_Application.htm%3FTocPath%3DTutorials%7CCorporate%2520Policy%2520Management%7C_____2
