Symptoms

Client is utilizing a third-party (that specializes in AWS infrastructure, networking, provisioning, etc.). They are building out the environment for K2. They are asking specifically about two Amazon offerings and whether K2 would actually work with them. Those are:

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) - Instead of a fully-managed Windows Server with SQL installed. See: https://aws.amazon.com/rds/

AWS Directory Service - Instead of a fully-managed Windows Server running Active Directory. They were specifically asking about "Simple AD". See: https://aws.amazon.com/directoryservice/
 

Diagnoses

Does K2 integrate with Amazon services.
 

Resolution

Services inquired are not officially supported by K2 however that does not mean they wont work. K2 supports Microsoft Azure it self. How that would integrate with Amazon I can not currently advise. We have not done any testing with either Amazon RDS or AWS Directory Service to date. If there is some sort of web service to access it, then you could possibly use one of our endpoint brokers, otherwise at this time you would need to look into custom integration.
