Starting workflow from button

When you start a workflow manually but when you start the workflow with a button it doesn't action the activities within the workflow or pass information to the form.

 

Diagnoses

This issue can be due to the fact that a workflow has not been configured to start via a form.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue you will have to specify the workflows start rule to be actioned by a form. Then within the workflow's start rule you can select the form you intend to use to start the workflow. Alternatively if you need to pass data to a workflow from a form you can also use a data transfer rule so that once control has been actioned, the relevant information is passed.
