Symptoms

When in the SmartObject Services Tester the SQL Server ServiceInstance can no longer read the database. I receive no errors but there are no Stored Procedures, Tables, or Views. I have even added a new SQL Server Service to see if that would fix it and I get the same results. A successful connection but no Stored Procedures, Tables, or Views. As a result none of the SmartObjects are working.

Diagnoses

The service instance was configured to use K2 Service Account authentication.

Resolution

We verified and gave the K2 service account access (dbowner) to the database. Refreshing the service instance exposed the service objects (tables, stored procedures, views). Alternative, you can also grant permissions to only certain SQL object (tables, stored procedures, views) if the database contains a lot of objects and if you would only like to expose certain objects.
