Symptoms

K2 always throws an exception when calling the List method of the Realm SmartObject. The error is "Specified cast is not valid". Recently the DNS changed in the environment, when trying to modify some realm settings you may recieve an error as soon as the value changed.

Diagnoses

It appears there was a missing instance in one of the identity schema tables in the K2 database, responsibile for the storing claim mapping information in K2. This would cause an the error because when trying to identify the realm, K2 will be unable to do so and a claim would not be issued. Once the missing realm value was added into the database then the issue was corrected.

Resolution

Please contact K2 Support for a fix, as it is an unsupported practice to modify database values in any way without the help or oversight of K2 Support.
