Symptoms

Suppose you are trying to use “Open Rule” in SmartForms so that you have a button on a Form (or View) and only once the button has been clicked by a user, should the worklist item change from Available to Open, and not once the form loads. But the wordlist item changes its status to open whenever form loads irrespectively of your rule. This used to work as expected prior to upgrade to 1.0.7.
 

Diagnoses

This is known issue, which is present in SmartForms 1.0.7 with latest updates (up to 107.10). Currently there is no fix for this in 1.0.7 but Open Rule works correctly in current version of SmartForms (4.6.9).
 

Resolution

You may consider upgrade to 4.6.9 if Open Rule functionality is critical for you. As an alternative, you may also try to use some workaround for 4.6.8 for example using custom service, which releases task based on set of conditions.
