Slow authentication performance

When you have performance issues during authenticating against smartform. The Smartforms are running fast, but authentication (redirect to [...]Identity/sts/Windows/wsfed?wa=wsignin1.0) after entering user name and password is very slow.
Is there a reason why this is happening?
Resolution
The authentication protocols when going into smart should take less than 40's and this is the expected behaviour at this current time.
