Symptoms
Within a K2 Studio process when using the SharePoint Search event to retrieve items from a SharePoint list, the Search Filters page of the dialog allows any column on the list to be included in the filter. However, results are only returned if the field chosen is a Required field on the SharePoint list. Filtering on non-required fields returns no results.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a custom list in SharePoint
2. Add an additional single-line of text column, not required
3. Add multiple various test items
4. Create a test process and search the list using the SharePoint Search event.
5. On the Search Filters page, filter on text in the additional non-required column
6. Perform a test: no results are returned.
7. In SharePoint, edit the additional column to be required
8. Perform a test: results are returned.
Diagnoses
Neither Support nor the customer were later able to reproduce the issue.
Resolution
None, per se. The issue is no longer reproducible. Customer suspects that maybe upgrading SharePoint to SP2 resolved the issue, since that is the only change they are aware of.
