Symptoms

In a form that has a drop-down populated with users, the form starts the workflow and needs to be able to select a user from the dropdown and assign a work item to the selected user further down the line in the workflow. 

Diagnoses

Transfer the value of the form control to a data field in the workflow when it starts. 

Resolution 

A data field called "strDestination" was created in the workflow. When configuring the smartforms process wizard, transfer the "Form Field (Value)" to the "Data Field (Destination)" on the "Specify Data Bindings and Folio" panel.
